Tasmania Bible Forum

Tasmania Bible Forum at Deloraine

St Mark's Anglican Church Deloraine hosted its first Tasmanian Bible Forum on 12 May.

38 delegates, nearly half from Deloraine itself, with representatives from the Uniting Church and the Gospel Hall, came to study under the Revd Canon Richard Humphrey, as he opened the wisdom literature of Proverbs, Ecclesiastes and Job.

We crossed out the word ‘meaningless' from our NIV versions, as Richard clearly didn't like it, learned about ‘Qoheleth' and ‘vapour' and even his unique interpretation of some of the scriptural passages. We covered 42 chapters of Job in two sermons and asked what on earth is a hippo for?

We were provided tea/coffee and a very enjoyable hot buffet lunch by the Women's Guild of St Mark's.

It was a good day, enjoyed by all.
